If your clients are experiencing low mood, depression, and anxiety, BounceBack can help. Through BounceBack, adults and youth 15+ learn skills to help manage worry and anxiety, combat unhelpful thinking, and become more active and assertive.
In addition, there’s no waiting period, and the program is free to people living in Ontario who have a valid health card number. Access to the program is by referral through a family doctor, nurse practitioner, or client self-referral. If clients submit a referral themselves, their primary care provider is notified and kept informed of their progress in the program. Once a referral is submitted, clients who are accepted into the program are contacted by a BounceBack coach within five business days to schedule a telephone assessment. So, you can be assured that your clients receive immediate access to the mental health supports they need.
“Finding psychological services is very difficult, especially those that are publicly funded. BounceBack removes the travel and cost barriers to care and makes it available for clients. All of my clients who have participated in the program have benefited and have acquired skills for managing their anxiety and depression. – Ontario doctor”
How it works:
Telephone coaching using skill-building workbooks
BounceBack is an evidence-based, guided self-help program grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). During three to six telephone sessions, trained coaches motivate and support clients as they work through a series of workbooks that are personalized to their current needs.
While BounceBack coaches are working with your clients on their individual workbooks, they remain primarily under your care. The coaches will inform you if your clients have been accepted into the program and will provide you with information on their progress. Because coaches are not clinicians, they don’t provide counselling. Coaches are extensively trained by clinical psychologists in the BounceBack program, which has consistently shown to reduce depressive and anxious symptoms by almost 40% at program completion.
Telephone coaching is currently available in the following languages: English, French, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Farsi, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, and Urdu.
